I spent tonight loading “The Word of Promise-New Testament” from Thomas Nelson onto my laptop. This is a set of 20 audio CDs that I plan to listen to on my ipod. I can’t wait! (It was a gift to my husband which I confiscated.) For the past 6 months I have been listening to Zondervan’s “The Bible Experience” audio Bible on my ipod at night. It is a terrific product! Instead of “simply” reading the Bible before I go to bed, I now listen to the Bible (or sometimes listen and simultaneously read it). Then I keep the Bible playing in my ear all night long as I sleep. This has helped me immensely. I used to waste a great deal of time trying to fall asleep at night; I couldn’t seem to stop my busy mind from processing all of the day’s details. (Journaling, reading, praying, Scripture memory, etc., did not seem to help.) But an audio Bible has turned out to be the missing key– just the thing I need to bring that highly elusive peace! Companies like Thomas Nelson and Zondervan will be very happy to know that Bible customers like me, who have an embarrassing number of printed Bibles at home, will also want to have MULTIPLE audio Bibles!
